Permira to acquire a majority position in BioCatch

Permira Growth Opportunities II, a fund advised by global private equity firm Permira, has acquired a majority stake in BioCatch, the Israel based digital fraud detection and financial crime prevention startup, from Bain Capital Tech Opportunities and Maverick Ventures, in a secondary transaction valuing BioCatch at a total enterprise valuation of USD 1.3bn. Alongside Perfira’s investment, existing shareholders Sapphire Ventures and Macquarie Capital have increased their investments in BioCatch.
